'Bout damn time...

So I finally get to post an entry that isn't manically depressive. Yay! Brief update of what's happened: I've moved back to Mankato being as there is really no reason for me to be in Fargo anymore (had to voluntarily withdraw until next fall, not sure if I'm going back), I got a full-time job as a manager at a kiosk in the mall called Photo Font Fun (which means I get paid 8 dollars an hour to sit on my ass), and I somehow managed to get a girlfriend. So for the first time in a long time, things are on the up. I have a reason to be responsible, someone to care for, and something to gain from it all. Now for some background information.

Topic 1: Moving to Kato - The kind staff at North Dakota State University has informed me that I cannot attend their school until next fall, due to the fact that I was written up 4 times in one semester. The biggest problem I have with this is that 2, maybe 3 of the write ups were bullshit. They were for small things like noise complaints and things like that. One of the write ups was for going on the roof of a 10 story dorm, bringing dorm furniture up there, encouraging others to go up there, drinking while up there, and throwing stuff off the roof. I can totally understand why I got in trouble for that one. The worst part about the whole deal is that I had found an apartment before the told me I could no longer attend. I had no job or girlfriend in Fargo, so the only reason I really had to be there was school. Because of the extremely slow transfer of information, I had to back out on my friends who were relying on me to pay rent. So I drove to Fargo and back one night, talked to my friends, gave them some cash, brought some stuff home, and sent them some more cash when I got back. Hopefully they have enough to make do. So now I live back in the Mankato area (sometimes with my mom, sometimes with Tony, sometimes wherever else I end up) and things are all copasetic. Yay!

Topic 2: Gainful employment - *start random plug* This portion of "Confessions of an Elitist" is brought to you by Tony, finder of new and amazing jobs. *end random plug* So through my escapades with Tony since being back, he introduced me to Jerry. Jerry co-owns Photo Font Fun, which is an interesting little business that involves foamboard, framing background with words cut into it, wood, and glass. Check out the link for a better idea of what I'm talking about. Jerry hired me as the manager, which means I work 40 hours a week at 8 dollars an hour, make the schedule, send in the orders, and basically run the store. What's even better is that I have underlings. I have total control over how much money that they have. I am their financial God! Mwuah ha ha! *ahem* Though I will, of course, make sure that they get the hours that they need to earn at least decent money. I owe all this to Tony, who is teh 1337z0rz for getting me this job. I <3 you, Tony.

Topic 3: The Girlfriend - I started dating a girl named Casey. I think she's extremely cool (though a little shetlered) and quite funny. Unfortunately, some of my friends don't see her as such. She's had kind of a shady past, but then so have I. We haven't been going out for that long and I don't know everything about her, but we have a lot of common interests which makes everything easier. The only downside is that she is younger and still on that parental leash, but I am more than willing to do that for her.

Ok, this post has been ridiculously long, but because it was happy everything is balanced out. I'm back home, I'm employed, and I'm committed. I couldn't be happier. Adieu. Josh
